Kodu World got a start!

14th July 2009, 12:19 pm by Minikloon

This is a small starting, but I wish it goes up. By those time, Kodu World is only a simple forum, by later I will add a complete website. I'm currently checking with my hoster if I could use a PHP script to put an automated Kodu's Games Database so it would be faster to put your games in.

For peoples who came here randomly, we are a community of players and creator who likes Kodu...

How to post your Kodu game

How to post your Kodu game
When presenting your game you need to remember several things:
  • The Name
  • Optional if the game is aesthetic: The Point of the game
  • Optional if the game is aesthetic: How to play the game
  • Scenery
  • Optional: Story

The Name
The name is one, if not THE most important things about your game. It should tell you a lot about the game, while being short and snappy.

The point of the game
The point of the game is VERY important. This is why you should play your game, and what you should do in the game. However, if the game is aesthetic, the point of the game is to look at it, rather then do anything, therefore making this topic not required.

How to play the game
This is also equally important. There's no point explaining how good your game is but not telling people how to play it. Try not to post to many rules of the game, try to program them, if you can't, simply post the rules.

Scenery
Scenery is the part of the map you'll see most. Scenery varies from lush green landscapes, to magma filled volcanoes. In an aesthetic game, this is without a doubt, THE most important factor.

Story
The story is the backbone of your game, although not required, it can make your game stand out. If you are making a story, try to pay attention to the game. Things a good story should include are Who, What, Where, When, and Whu.
E.g.
  • Who are you?
  • When are you?
  • Why are you there?
  • What are you there to do/doing?
